According to the Puranas and the Vedas, the Hindus have always considered the “Divine” as Mother. The Divine Mother has various manifestations and is envisaged in forms with different names. Maa Durga, Mahakali, Bhagwathi Amma, Mata Rani Maharaj, Maheshwari, Ambal, Maa Saraswathi, Mahalakshmi, Maa Parvathi are all names given to the Divine Form. For a devotee, the Divine Mother takes up the form according to the way the devotee is seeking her blessings. Devotees seeking strength pray to Maa Durga while in pursuit of knowledge we ask Maa Saraswathi to bless us. Mahakali is urged to help in the destruction of evil while we look upon Mahalakshmi to endow us with wealth. Maa Ambe blesses us with happiness and prosperity. Whatever be the form, the Divine Mother is always omnipresent.
